NYX Cardiff Blogger Event

So I was fortunate enough to get an invite to attend the NYX Cardiff Blogger Event at Boots last week.

The Boots store at St Davids has had a brand spanking new NYX counter for a few months and it’s been so chaotic there, especially with people after the Lingerie Lip Colours.

At the event, we were shown so many amazing new products, how to use them and I was treated to a cheeky little eyebrow tutorial from Jade who did an incredible job!
I am forever struggling to keep up with my eyebrow pencils running out on me and them wiping off after loads of activity BUT BEHOLD, Jade has found me a holy grail product – NYX Eyebrow Gel in Chocolate.

I cannot rave enough about this product, Jade claims that you can sleep with these on and they’ll still be there and my god, she is correct! I definitely put these to the test and was really pleased – also, the fact that you have to use the tiniest bit of gel to cover both eyebrows, it’s going to last me so much longer than my pencils!

The NYX Counter looks outstanding at St Davids and has such a huge range of different products always in stock. At the Blogger Event, there was also the chance to purchase a small number of eyeshadow palettes at a discounted rate which were incredible value for money!

The ladies hosting the event were so generous too by giving us a select few taster products to try out ourselves from brands such as The Body Shop, L’Oreal, Lancome and Vichy..
I’m still waiting to find the perfect time to try out a few of these products, so bare with me and expect to see some posts on what I think.

Obviously I couldn’t leave empty handed either, so I decided to pick up a few items so I went with the NYX Lingerie in ‘Push Up’ as I thought it would be work appropriate, NYX Stacked Mascara to give me some length to my lashes and also the Eyebrow Gel in ‘Chocolate’ which is out of this world! So look out for some reviews on these products – I’ll be posting them soon!

I want to say a huge thanks to the ladies at NYX Cardiff for all their hard effort and knowledge that went into the event. I had such an amazing time and cannot wait to see some future events from these ladies!
What is your favourite NYX product and why? I’d love to know!

Weta Workshop was incredible!

OH MY. I went to Weta Cave & Workshop on Monday and it blew my mind!
Weta Workshop (in Wellington, NZ) are the incredibly talented people that created most of the props for films such as Lord Of The Rings, Avatar, King Kong, Tintin..
IMG_1482IMG_1469
We got to have a tour around the workshop and see how they make these amazing props, and they showed us the materials that most of them were made out of which was surprising! Most of them are made out of just plastic or foam! Even Sauron’s armour was made out of a rubbery substance, so they had to look very carefully whilst editing to make sure that this wasn’t visible! It was to make production run much smoother, when they were filming for 10-15 hours a day. Nobody wants to be in very, very heavy armour for that amount of time!

These photos are from Weta Cave (which is the shop) as we weren’t allowed to take photos inside the workshop (probably for confidentiality reasons) but the shop props were still incredible too! And, for purchase!IMG_1475

Here are a few links to Weta Workshop, to see for yourself!

My Amazon Wishlist – IN PROGRESS!

I have heard that people sometimes like to see what others have on their wish list, so I thought I would start an Amazon one for you all to have a browse at what I’m looking at!
At the moment, it’s mainly books as I’m on a reading binge!

I’ll hopefully keep updating it this week for you guys to look at!

Black Milk Sample Sale?!

As some of you may know, I LOVE Black Milk Clothing.
Somehow, I only found out about this sample sale yesterday and it’s about 5 minutes away from where I am for now – so I definitely had to go!

Sadly, I didn’t take any photos when I was in there though because my phone had died as I was speaking to my parents whilst I was in the queue.
It was such a fun event, whilst standing in the queue they continue to entertain you by taking some GoPro videos doing the mexican wave, hand out sweets, lots of bubbles..
As you go in, you tend to have a limited amount of time like 15 minutes, to rummage through a pile of your size. These piles are huge and people full on get in there, right in the middle, digging deep! (like me. ha.)
There’s music playing in the background and so many people have a great time that it gives off such a good atmosphere! I would definitely recommend trying to go to one of these sample sales one day!
(Hopefully they’ll do one in Melbourne when I get there..)

There were quite a few items that I wanted, but I can’t be spending loads whilst travelling as it’s a struggle as it is haha! But, I finally narrowed them down..

I got the Cherry Blossom crop which was $10, then I bought this incredible Purple Galaxy Swimsuit for $35 which I will wear with high waisted shorts, some boots and a denim jacket (sometimes!). I absolutely adore their galaxy prints and was going to get the Green Galaxy Leggings too, but I couldn’t afford to buy them all so I sacrificed them as I already have a pair of leggings!

Also, I am in love with the Red Tartan leggings and dresses that they sell – but I didn’t manage to see any of these at all. But when I went on Instagram just now, someone was able to get some this morning!!!!! (I’m assuming they were in the very first group to go in). So jealous! I would’ve definitely have bought the red tartan if I had seen them and sacrificed everything else! But hey, at least they still make the tartan ones online for now! 😀

You can still get the Purple Galaxy Leggings HERE but I’m not too sure they are hanging around for long, as the green ones have been stopped! (which makes me wish I picked them up too now..)

Have you got any Black Milk Clothing? Or been to a sample sale?
Let me know! 😀 I want to know what you all have!
