Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

I know it is past Christmas, but I feel like I really need to do a review on Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Walt Disney World in Orlando. I believe that this might come in handy if people are planning on booking a Christmas getaway this year (and for future, of course!)

Firstly, to get the pricing out of the way.. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is at an additional cost. So you basically have to purchase a ticket for the party which is usually from 6/7pm until midnight (early entry into the park from 4pm). The tickets are priced differently as they are slightly cheaper before the major dates in December, but when I went on the 23rd December it was $99 per adult plus tax and $94 for a child.
Although saying this, keep in mind that if you already have an annual pass you can get a small discount on these tickets!

The great thing about this event is that some families enjoy attending whilst dressed in their pyjamas and Christmas hats which was really fun to see (although I was a little jealous of how comfy they looked!)

What is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party?
It is a festive party where the park is completely transformed, filled with Christmas music, lots of free cookies and hot cocoa being given out and you get to see the Christmas parades and meet exclusive characters in their appropriate attire for the event!

Is the party worth the $99?
Personally, I would say that if it was $59, then I would say yes as it is a really fun event and you get to meet the characters in costumes that they usually wouldn’t wear! But to be honest, as you get closer to Christmas Day the parks tend to roll out the exact same Christmas parades that you were paying to see to the general public on a normal day.
I would definitely say that if you are really into meeting your characters then I would recommend it, especially if you are going to get your moneys worth of cookies too!

An upside to the event is that most people are going to be seeing the parades, shows and meeting characters so this means that the attraction times are usually reduced quite a bit. There are a limited amount of tickets for each night of the event, so the park will be much quieter when you are there but still expect long queues for the character meet and greets!

What is the food and drink like?
At the event, they have ‘Treat Trails’ or a station that is called something along those lines. You basically have your Very Merry wristband on (they give it to you at the entrance of the park) and you can queue up for unlimited cookies, hot cocoa and eggnog. Each station tries to have a variety of flavours for you to try, for example they had Ginger Cookies, Peppermint Bark, Molasses..

Did I enjoy it?
I really did enjoy the event, it was a first time for me and I do understand that it was pricey but it was really nice to have the opportunity to get some really nice festive photos with characters that I usually wouldn’t have gotten to meet AND all in their festive gear (like in my photos!).
I really enjoyed that it was quiet in the park too although the event had already sold out, the only negative thing I have to say about the event is that it’s expensive and we were in Orlando during the main Christmas week so we saw the exact same parades on the run up to Christmas as we did at Very Merry which was a little gutting as we did pay for that advantage!
The event did make me feel really christmassy and festive though and I had a fab time there but personally I would not spend the $99 to do it again – it was lovely the first time, but I feel that at that price it’s more of a ‘one opportunity’ kind of event for me and my family!

Is there anything else you’d like to know about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party? Let me know!
Have you been before? What did you think about it? Enjoy it? Worth the money or not?

Christmas at Walt Disney World Pt.1

For the Christmas just gone, I was lucky enough to go to Walt Disney World with my family for the holidays and it was incredible!

There is always a huge bag of mixed opinions on Christmas at Disney from things like long lines for the attractions, the crowds and the parks being closed earlier so on and so forth..

We travelled from the 18th December until the 1st January for two weeks. Luckily the first week of the holiday is suppose to be the quietest as the huge crowds usually come from around the 22nd to stay for the duration of Christmas. I was a little nervous about this as I expected there to be really long lines for everything and as my mother puts it ‘You won’t get on many rides at all’ as she has been once before for christmas. In all honesty, when we went I felt like the lines for the rides were just like a normal busy day which wasn’t too bad at all although we did make sure that we had our Fastpasses sorted for each day to speed up the time too!

15492077_10154221142002362_3879761669672319278_n

For the crowds, again it was just like seeing a normal busy day apart from Christmas day and around the 28th December and New Years Eve. They were the really busy days in the park, Christmas Day at the Magic Kingdom obviously being the busiest (where they close the park around 10am due to full capacity). We had this in mind, got up early to get to the park for 9am and when we drove there, there was already a 30 minute queue to even get through the car park barriers (where they charge for parking – free with an annual pass though!).

We knew not to expect to get on many rides on Christmas Day, so we spent the majority of the day watching the parades, eating our Christmas Dinner (which was amazing from the Liberty Tree Tavern – all you can eat) and playing Sorcerers Of The Magic Kingdom. If you ever want me to go into more detail about any of this, then just leave a comment below and I will look into creating a post for you!

15697790_10154247219147362_5831812877245904148_n15697573_10154247219207362_700814254453110746_n15665664_10154230566097362_4461749250707467644_n

Somehow although I booked our Fastpasses a month before our holiday, it is very rare that you can get a pass for the Seven Dwarves Mine Train but surprisingly the only day I got it for was Christmas Day (which must have been from somebody else cancelling theirs at the time that I attempted!)
I highly recommend trying to get Fastpasses a few days or even the night before, for the attractions you want (apart from Frozen Ever After and Seven Dwarves Mine Train – it’s very unlikely you will get these). On the day, your choices will be much more limited although there is a chance that people cancel when you keep refreshing the page! But just bare in mind, if you know which parks you are going into on what days, then definitely get the Fastpasses for the rides you want to go on the most!

The parks were really festive during the Christmas holidays, full of wreaths, festive songs and every now and then a free sweet treat – such as sugar cookies! There was snow falling down on Main Street USA, character meet and greets in their festive attire and not forgetting Christmas Wishes and you definitely cannot miss the Cinderella Castle light up as icicles – it was the most beautiful thing!

Which reminds me that we also went to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (at an extra cost) but I will write a separate post on that!

As this post is getting pretty long, I think I will split this one into two parts so you can send me questions on specific things to cover in the next one!

Lush Cardiff Christmas Blogger Event

I was very lucky to get invited to Lush Cardiff‘s Christmas Blogger Event last week. I was so excited to have a nose at some of their previously amazing seasonal products and to see what’s new in store for this year!

There were bloggers in christmas jumpers, lots of festive music, vegan food and drinks which were to die for and every single thing in there smelt incredible!

We had the lovely Lorna show us around the store, giving us demos of a huge range of seasonal products such as Yog Nog, Christingle, Bubbly, Santa’s Belly..

img_9778
*shown above: Santa’s Belly Shower Jelly – which contains nourishing Fresh Apple Juice, Star Anise Infusion which is Warming and spicy, Rose Absolute for the balancing and restorative element and Neroli Oil to uplift and tone.

Firstly, we got to try out all of the shower gels and cleansers and boy, are there some extremely amazing scents this year! I completely fell in love with a shower gel called Bubbly (which is a warm scent of grape, orange and lime) and Christingle which is a Body Conditioner that has an amazing minty scent to it (Believe me, I am so smooth, fresh smelling and tingly after using this in the shower!).

*First image: Snow Fairy Shower Gel and Lord Of Misrule Shower Cream.
Lord of Misrule contains warming and clarifying Black Pepper Oil, Patchouli Oil which is exotic but earthy, Vanilla Absolute and Organic Wheatgerm Oil which is full of nutrients!

We then got shown a few lip scrubs and lip tints, before moving down to the soap and bath section where things got even more interesting (& more glitter-filled demonstrations!).

Everyone was so friendly and amazing to talk to at the event and they provided us with so much information about the background of the products, the ingredients, what the benefits of the ingredients are..

Unfortunately it’s another 2 months until Christmas, so I’ll just have to try keep my festive spirit in for at least another month yet! Go ahead and check out the christmas range at lush.com/products/christmas!

So, a huge thank you to the lovely ladies at Lush Cardiff for this amazing event and we cannot wait to see the new Lush Spa that’s going to be opening!
What are your favourite Lush products? What is the best festive Lush product in your opinion?

You need Star Wars Battlefront!

Are you a huge Star Wars fan? Or even just a general lover? Star Wars Battlefront is definitely the best video game for the season this year, hands down!
Star Wars Battlefront is the latest craze from EA which is an action game that is either first person or third. You can play as classic characters such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Leia, Boba Fett, Palpatine or even the man, Darth Vader himself!
It is seen as a reboot from previous Battlefront games, but the graphics and the recreation of scenes from the older games is just mindblowingly beautiful!

ogimage.imgfeaturedImage.img

I jumped onto my Xbox One and headed to the store to download the Battlefront BETA straight after work in November and I was not disappointed from what I saw. This took my breath away instantly – from the fact that I could play as Emperor Palpatine to defeat the rebels in a VS match to riding a speeder bike through Endor or even driving AT-ATs and X-Wings.

rendition1.img

I would personally say that this game is 90% Online Play to get the most out of the gaming experience, but they do have a few missions and lessons that you can play by yourself where you have to defeat Boba Fett and protect your pods.

Like I said at the beginning, if you love the original trilogy, you will probably fall in love with this game. Travel to Hoth, Endor, Tattooine and fulfil your Star Wars dreams in an instant! The detail that has been put into this game is incredible – although people sometimes describe this simply as a Call Of Duty-esqe, shooter game with a Star Wars front it is still so much more than that for any Star Wars fan.

Why wouldn’t you want to run up to people and fry them to pieces with a lightsaber or force choke them? Also, there is a great achievement that you receive, if you get hit by an Ewok which made me laugh more than anticipated..

2916877-star_wars_battlefront_e3_screen_2___survival_mission_tatooine_wm

Have any of you play this game or are getting it for christmas? I think that this is an immaculate game which I will not tire of easily! It is perfectly timed with the fully blown Star Wars hype at the moment with the upcoming movie and I would recommend this for all ages, as there is no blood whatsoever in this – all friendly ‘shoot and disappear’ action.

May The Force Be With You,
Zoe

Happy New Year from Sydney!

Happy New Year from Sydney! It’s been a great 2014, but now it’s time to move onto the next chapter.
I had an amazing New Years Eve, I went to Taronga Centre for it and it was incredible! The view was amazing, the free food and alcohol was so good and it was just a lovely night out with the girls too. It was definitely worth the price we paid, apart from the transport – but hey, we still had such a good time!

We watched the 9pm fireworks, had a dance for a while, drank more and more wine, went in the free photo booth and then watched the main midnight fireworks which were so stunning! I’d definitely recommend checking this out, if you are in Sydney for New Years Eve!

Moving onto resolutions, I never really have one or if I do, it’s something really silly and stupid. But this year, I am telling myself to enjoy every moment of whatever you’re doing, explore more things, get out of a comfort zone and take risks. I would also tell myself to not be a fool in many situations and to just have the time of your life 🙂
YouTube video to come!

Do any of you have resolutions? What did you do for New Years Eve? 😀
