Disney Infinity 3.0 Review

Do you want a game that you can play as several different Disney and Pixar characters, complete levels or do whatever you want? Then Disney Infinity is a great choice!
I was humming and aahing for ages about Disney Infinity.. I really wanted to purchase it, but not for the scary price tag. Luckily since Christmas time, it has gone down in price and a lovely friend of mine ended up getting it for me as he knew I kept wanting it!

You get a portal, that you can put the characters that you want to play as on and they’ll appear on the screen, and then you can place more things down like playset pieces (that are playable levels based around a certain Disney film) and other boosting items (that will improve your health, give you game expansions..)
So, on Disney Infinity there are two choices. You can either play the ‘Playset’ mode or ‘Toy Box’ mode – Playset mode is when you play the levels from the playset that you have on your portal and Toy Box mode is where you can roam the world and do whatever you want, play as any character and combine worlds together (so you can have Olaf inside Star Wars, or Mater inside Aladdin).

I feel like this game is such a great choice, although it can be pricey and this was my only downfall about the game! When you buy a start pack, it comes with the portal, the video game, two characters (the newest one is Star Wars) and a playset piece so you can play the Star Wars levels (not The Force Awakens or the original trilogy).

If you want to play as another character in the game, you need to purchase a character from an actual shop. These characters usually range from £9.99-£14.99 by themselves, baring in mind this doesn’t give you any new levels in the game, you can only play as that character in the Toy Box. If you want different levels, you can purchase a ‘Play Set’ around £24.99-29.99 which gives you two characters from the same film and the level will be based on that film (for example, Inside Out level pack comes with Anger and Joy, and then the playset piece to give you the Inside Out levels in the game!).
Beware, your child might want more and more characters and this can get pricey! But this is definitely a great game anyway.

For me personally, I prefer playing the Toy Box mode as you can do whatever you want to. You can build a house for all of your Disney friends (they have really cute little characters that run around now, and Funko have released what I believe to be the same characters called ‘Dorbz’), you can farm, you can fight, learn to drive vehicles, create new worlds and visit other people’s created worlds from around the world..
Infinity-3

There’s so much to do on Disney Infinity and I was pleasantly surprised when I started playing it! I cannot get enough of it yet!
There are also the expansions too, such as ‘Toy Box Speedway’ that turns Disney infinity into a racing game and ‘Toy Box Takeover’ that has more adventure with villains!

I would highly recommend this game, for the Disney and Star Wars fans in the family. You’ll get hours of fun out of this game and they have recently released The Force Awakens playset too, which looks incredible!
That’s about it that I have to say about Disney Infinity for now – I will probably write some updates on how I am going with this game, what I have created and so on..
So keep your eyes peeled!

Xbox 360: Disneyland Adventures (Kinect)

Can I point out how much of an underrated game this is? This is one of my all time favourite games for the Xbox 360 and I always highly recommend it to families that love Disney.
If you’re a huge Disney parks and film freak like me, then this is the ultimate video game for you. No joke.
You use to Kinect (which is a camera for your Xbox 360 that detects your body, so you can control the game by using your hands, arms, jumping, dancing, ducking down..)
You get to walk/run around Disneyland, hug the characters, collect autographs from all of them, ride the rides (most of them have a level built into these, so you have to jump over obstacles, duck under things, move left and right to avoid stuff) and you can do whatever you like! Not to mention, that there’s also Hidden Mickeys in this game. Snap the camera out and away you go!

I really have no idea how this game wasn’t more popular? I have had this game for 3/4 years now and I still absolutely love it. There’s so much to the game and I have only completed about 50% of the achievements and I have been on here for hours!

My only problem that yes, it’s a Kinect game but I get so addicted to playing this game that my arms are in agony from all of the hours that I am playing it! You need to lift your arm and move it left and right to walk, and I am aching the next day but really feel the need and addiction to carry on collecting autographs and hidden mickeys! That is a sacrifice I am willing to take!

Have you played this? I’m so sad that this isn’t going to be reverse compatible with the new Kinect for the Xbox One but this is a game that makes me want to keep my Xbox 360 in the works!

Lego Jurassic World Game Review (Xbox One)

As I work at a Video Game Retailer, I thought ‘Why don’t I post reviews about some Video Games that I have played?’ – so here goes nothing!

I bought my Xbox One in October when I came back from travelling and a must have game for me had to be Lego Jurassic World. I absolutely love the Lego Games as they are playable for all ages, have a wide target audience for their humour and they are just overall, great games!

So, I have previously owned Lego Indiana Jones, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Pirates Of The Caribbean, The Hobbit, Lord Of The Rings and Marvel Super Heroes – and I still think that Lego Jurassic World is still up there with some of the best Lego Games made!

Yes, it is great for children anyway but it is also great for the older audience that grew up with the Jurassic Park movies as this game features the original trilogy and the latest Jurassic World. You can play every single film and it is a decent length game too!
You can build the vehicles and dinosaurs from every single film, and also use these within the game – to completely races, levels, you name it..

They have a lot of humour and puns in here for the parents, the older fans, the children and even the grandparents. It is a lighthearted game, that although it has dinosaurs that usually eat people and animals, in the Lego Games they do not show any of this and they always add a cheeky spin onto it (as my mother pointed out whilst I was playing it).

I would highly recommend this game to everyone, and I feel that it is one of the best selling games at our store since October! Look out for Lego The Avengers coming out at the end of January – it looks like it is going to be great too!

Have any of you played this game?
What is your favourite Lego Video Game? I would LOVE to know about this!

The Wind In The Willows by Kenneth Grahame Book Review

I have never read The Wind In The Willows, so I ventured off to this super cute second hand book store called Hard 2 Find Books in Auckland and found this there. It was really cheap and I thought that it would be a great time to start reading it.
It is definitely not what I expected from this childrens book..
There were a lot more emotions and problems flying through the book than I thought would be, so I was a little surprised at the time!

It was still a good story and I think that it could show a lot of lessons to children whilst reading this, but I also feel like the end was very rushed. But who I am to say? 🙂

I still enjoyed this though! Have you read this or seen the film?
