Great For: Romance

Review: WOW. Yes, that is going to be the first word of this review. WOW…
Basically, I have seen this book floating around on Goodreads and YouTube, but I was a very bad person and judged a book by it’s cover.. I expected this book to just be one of those stereotypical romance novels that are all pretty similar.
I was wrong! Lesson learnt.

It turns out that I saw the trailer for the upcoming film adaptation of this book and I watched it half way through and decided that I need to read this book urgently – so I stopped the trailer to save it from spoiling the book for me and off I went!

This book just blew me away completely, it was such a great, captivating story but also so so sad at the same time.

To give you a quick little feel of this book: A man called Will (about 30-35 years old, I believe) has been in an accident and has become Paraplegic, he cannot move any parts of his body apart from his head and the tips of his fingers. He is miserable and feels like he’s just completely lost in life. It turns out that a woman (Lou) really needs a job and takes up a ‘carer’ job as she desperately needs the money. She looks after Will, has a very hard time at first as he acts quite rudely and blunt to her, making it even more difficult but eventually he opens up to her, which he hasn’t done with any other carers in the past!
That is all that I will leave you with, as there is so much more to the story but I do not want to spoil it for you all!

UPDATE: I have read the sequel ‘Me After You’ and yep, you’ve guessed it right – I cried through this one too! Click here to read my review.

Have any of you read this? How much did you love it? I haven’t heard one bad thing about this book at all – everybody on Goodreads told me that it was incredible from the start!
Have you seen the film adaptation? Let me know.

Harry Potter and The Cursed Child Book Review!

Title: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Author: J.K. Rowling

Purchase: Available in the UK and US.

Overall Rating: 4/5

Great For: Who doesn’t love Harry Potter?

Themes: Magic, Battles, History, Family

Review: That’s right, the wait is finally over!
It was safe to say that I was waiting for the Amazon delivery man to arrive and I ended up finishing the book within hours. I couldn’t put it down!

So, this new novel is based on the new play ‘Harry Potter and The Cursed Child’ and is about Harry, his two sons and a daughter. They are off to Hogwarts to start their new adventure but they notice strange things going on with their son Albus..
Will we see people from the past? More encounters? Love? Death? You’ll have to wait and see for yourself.

And I’m not going to say anything else about the storyline, but there’s a lot of back and forth in the story and it is also written in a script format. I wasn’t too sure about this at first and I’m still not too sure, to be honest..
I found it a little difficult to keep up with each character (past, present, future) but I got there in the end!

I really enjoyed this though and I cannot wait for some more Harry Potter related goodness! Sadly I haven’t got tickets for the play yet but I would absolutely love to see it, especially after reading this!

This book definitely brings back all of the ‘Harry Potter feels’ from the past novels and you won’t be disappointed 🙂

What is your favourite Harry Potter book and why?

I am returning to my blog!

That’s right, I have recently thought about getting stuck back into my blog!
I have so many great book reviews that I cannot wait to post, life updates and whatever entails after that! (as you know, I never limit myself to topics, I am a complete open book!).

Anyway, I thought that I would just write a super quick post to say that I am coming back to ramble at you all once more 🙂
