Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli Book Review

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was great to get an insight into how teenagers ‘come out’ and the struggles they face. I have a lot of homosexual friends and I have been with them through a lot, especially ‘coming out’, so I just found it so interesting to read this book and have highly recommended it to some of my friends. I think that they would enjoy to hear other views and struggles that people have had.

So like I said, this book is about a boy at high school who has been emailing another boy from the school, both anonymously as they both feel the same way and have started to have feelings for each other, without actually knowing each other in person. It turns out that they get closer and closer, but one person is ready to come out and reveal himself to the other, but the other isn’t ready yet.
But, this guy accidentally leaves his email signed in on a school computer and someone else finds his emails. They take a photograph of one and blackmails him with it.
It all goes from there..

So I thought I would leave it there as I definitely don’t want to spoil the book! But I would highly recommend this book, it has had a lot of attention from the book community recently.
