G Adventures Trip: Part One (Fraser Island)

Fraser Island was amazing, that’s all I have to say really!
I decided to go on a 10 Day Tour (link to the exact one) with a company called G Adventures, who provide tours all around the world. I thought that this would be a lot easier for me as I had been very stressed recently and means that I didn’t have to book anything like hostels, attractions..
Our tour started from Brisbane and made it’s way up to Cairns. I will be posting photos from each place as we moved on, throughout the week hopefully!

We got to ride in a 4X4, have a scenic flight of the island and swim in every area of water possible!
As soon as we got to Fraser Island, there was a massive rain storm, but that didn’t stop us from doing anything! We immediately jumped into Lake Mackenzie and had a swim and ball game in the rain!
After that, we went to find our campsite where we had the cutest tents (more like, trailer tents than actual ground ones!) and started to have our group meal!DSC02704
On the second day, we started off bright and early and got to Eli Creek before any other tourists! We got into our bikinis and headed off to swim down the creek several times! It was such a great experience with everyone, even though it was a little cold! After that, we decided to have a quick swim in the sea too (which afterwards, on a plane flight which I will mention later, we saw sharks from the plane).

The scenic flight was optional ($50) and it was definitely worth it! It was so great, we got to see what the middle of the island looked like, saw some sharks in the ocean and got some incredible footage!
We then got back into our 4X4 and decided to do a few stops at the shipwreck, some lookouts and Champagne Falls (which I’ll talk about later).

We visited the shipwreck, got quite a few photos and footage taken and some group photos and then we headed off to the other lookouts! Firstly, we saw The Pinnacles which was so pretty as it tends to change colour with the weather. Then we headed up to the edge of the island to look out which was beautiful, such a lovely lookout! And finally, we went for a paddle in Champagne Falls which was really pretty as it was just like a massive rock pool on the side of the ocean, which has deeper parts to swim in too!

We then had a bit of a wild night at the camp site, which involved a little bit of alcohol, dancing, stir fry and camp fires!

That is the basics about our Fraser Island trip, which I’ll be more than happy to expand on if anybody wants more information! Although, I must say, we saw so many different animals on this 3 day trip to Fraser Island! We saw Dingoes, Whales, Turtles, Sharks, Goannas and some spiders too!

I have just edited my Youtube video from Fraser Island too, so look out for that when I have internet that’s good enough to upload it for you!

Small Brief: My Last Adventure in Australia!

That’s right, it’s my last adventure in Australia.
I have been travelling from Brisbane up to Cairns for the last 10 days, and my my, it has been amazing!
I thought that I would quickly write a brief on this trip for you all, and then when I have more time in the next few days, I will write a few posts on the specific places, where I went, what company I went with, what to expect, bla bla bla..

So, I am going to paste in my travel log here as I don’t want to give every small detail away.
Here it goes:
14th June
Today I have just been packing my backpack for my Brisbane>Cairns trip! I then ended up going for my last Harrys pie with Fiona, Constanze and Kristin.

15th June
I am finally here! I am in Brisbane, in Starbucks at the moment trying to catch up on this updating business! I just booked my Australia Zoo tickets and I cannot wait to hold a Koala Bear tomorrow! EEEEEE!

16th June
Today I went to Australia Zoo and it was such an amazing day! I loved it there! Firstly, I held a Blue Tongue Lizard, then I went to see all of the animals, fed kangaroos and then held a Koala! It was such a great zoo, and it was also really touching seeing all of the Steve Irwin tributes!
I then came back to the hostel for our G Adventures meeting, so we all went down to the bar downstairs and got to meet each other, before heading to a japanese restaurant.
Then we had to pack our overnight bags for Fraser Island!

17th June
Today is the day that we leave! Woo!
We were all up and in the bus by 8am, then started to head off to Rainbow Beach, so we could catch the ferry to Fraser Island and drive the 4X4!
When we got to Fraser Island, it was pouring down with rain, but it still didn’t dampen our spirits. We went for a swim in Lake Mackenzie before setting up camp and having a barbecue in the evening!

18th June
We got up early again today and went for a morning swim in Eli Creek which was so much fun! We floated down the creek in rubber dinghies and chilled out for a while. We then went back for lunch, before heading off for a scenic flight of Fraser Island which was incredible! Definitely worth the $50!
After that, we went to Champagne Pools for a swim and a hike around the edge of the island.
We then went back, had a few drinks after food (which turned a little too much for some people!) and then we headed to bed to get up early again!

19th June
We left Fraser Island today, we all got back in the 4X4 and headed to the ferry. We had such a blast on the journey, playing some great music to sing along to and joking around with each other.
When we got back to Rainbow Beach, we waited an hour until we had to leave for the train station, so we ended up charging our phones incase we need them and then went on a 5 hour train journey to Rockhampton.
We stayed at a Cattle Farm in Rockhampton which was really cool and got to sleep out under the stars in a swag! We had a campfire, marshmallows, beef stew and decided to play the werewolf game for a few hours!

20th June
This morning, we went to see all of the animals on the farm and fed them which was really nice. We are now on the bus, so we can board our boat for the Whitsundays later!

21st June
After a great nights sleep on the boat, we are up and ready! We went to Whitehaven Beach today which was chilly, but still so sunny. We didn’t even realise how sunny it was, and all burnt our legs from the reflections off the sand! I also saw the biggest spider that I have ever seen, too!
We then went Scuba Diving in the afternoon, which made me freak out at first but then it was one of the best experiences I have ever done, too! We also had a costume party on the boat in the night too! Too much fun!

22nd June
This morning, we went snorkelling which was so much fun! We saw absolutely stunning fish and coral and we had the whole place to ourselves! We then stopped at Airlie Beach and stayed at Base Backpackers for the night, so we decided to have a meal together and a small night out before a 4.30am wake up call the next day!

23rd June
4.30am wake up call, so we can catch a 10 hour train ride to Cairns! It was actually really relaxing on the train and most of us just slept most of the way through. Not forgetting, the trains are pretty incredible in Queensland, they are very similar to the service and facilities you’d get on a plane and so much room, too!
We then got to Cairns and straight away, we went to do a A J Hackett Minjin Swing (some of the boys did a bungee jump, too).

All of this was way too fun, and I can’t wait to talk to you all more in depth about each day and some activities!
Keep an eye out for my next few posts, I will fill them with useful links for you all!

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

I have finally read it! I have read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and it wasn’t half bad!
I didn’t find it incredible, but I didn’t find it bad either – a good, entertaining and easy read.

It is basically about a girl that writes fan fiction, but gets so involved with it that it runs her life, her relationships and her friends. It then goes on to tell the story of how she’s settling in at school, meets all sorts of people whether or not she gets on with them and what struggles she’s had to face. There’s also quite a bit of drama in there too!
It’s a hard one to describe without telling you the whole storyline, so feel free to look up a blurb if you’re daring enough!

But just for my opinion, I did quite enjoy reading this one and it only took me a day or two! A really nice pick, when you want to mix up your genres for once!

Have you read this? Are you a hardcore fan like most people? Let me know why you loved this book!

NEW VIDEO: Surprised My Mother At Disney Orlando!

As some of you may know, I am currently in Australia travelling and working.
I decided to save up some money as I heard that my family are heading to Walt Disney World in the summer whilst I am here.

So, me and my family (minus my mother) made lots of plans and completely pulled off this huge surprise of me turning up to Walt Disney World to surprise my mother!
She had no idea whatsoever and our flights were so well scheduled that I arrived 20 minutes before everyone else!

Check out my vlog below to get the whole story!

I hope you enjoyed this and there will be so many more videos coming up of my travels and even Walt Disney World!

My Outback Travels!

Last week, I decided to book a tour with The Rock Tour to see Uluru, Kata Kjuta and Kings Canyon for 4 days.
It was so much fun and I met some amazing people whilst I was there! There was a LOT of hiking, marshmallow toasting and attempting to learn phrases in each persons language!
It was such a fun 4 days, although we were so tired at the end and some nights were freezing cold in the swag – but it was still such an experience and we loved every minute of it!

I will be uploading a video eventually and here are a few photos of my trip:

The Awkward KISS-HUG-CHEEK Greet

My thoughts from before have reappeared again.
Is it just me, or are some of you guys awkward greeters too?
I mean, I am fine when it comes to speaking to people and meeting them, but when it comes to the ‘do you hug? do you kiss the cheek? do you hug and kiss the cheek? once? twice?’

I have messed this up quite a few times now and a really bad one was when I was on a date with an incredible guy. He went in for the hug, then kiss, whilst I sort of awkwardly went in for two hugs, then couldn’t let go as my brain was going into a panicking spasm of solutions!

Is it just me that does this?
And what do you guys think the easiest way to avoid this is?
Is there a smooth way to dodge your mistake?
xx

Goodbye Sydney..

So, here it is.. my last hour in Sydney!
I am so sad to leave Sydney and I am going to miss all of the amazing friends I have made and all of the places we have been – but it’s finally time to move on and start travelling properly.

I’m currently at the airport and I can’t stop thinking of everyone, when every single song comes on.
I have had some great memories, taken risks and really challenged myself since I have been here. It was one of the best 9 months of my life.
I think I will return one day, not too quickly though as there’s so many more places to see first, but I will return one day!

I want to thank all of my friends for being there for me through everything and for all of the great times we had together.
I love you all, so much. (Yes, the emotions are flowing right now haha!).

Goodbye Sydney.
