I Could Pee On This and Other Poems By Cats by Francesco Marciuliano review

This was a really short, humorous read. It was so funny, it’s a small book on poems written from a cats point of view.
Some of them are a little weird, but a lot of them are really funny and will leave you laughing out loud.
I could definitely see my old cat writing a few of these!

A definite coffee table, ‘book you’ll find in Urban Outfitters’ taste! Short, sweet and funny!

I Am The Messenger by Markus Zusak review

I read The Book Thief by Markus Zusak a few years ago, and I absolutely loved it! I fell in love with that book and it flew straight into my ‘Top’ books of all time. So when I saw that Markus Zusak had another book, I jumped straight to it!
I bought this for my friend for christmas, as we were doing a Secret Santa Book Edition and she really liked it. So I gave it a go..

Just to note, that it is nothing like The Book Thief. It is set in the present era and is a book about following the clues.
Basically the main character witnesses a bank robbery and tries to stop the robber at the end of the scene. The robber is arrested and everything turns back to normal. One day, the main character receives a playing card with a list of three random addresses on. It turns out that somebody has sent this to him, and expects him to correct what’s going wrong there.
Throughout the book, he tries to complete these ‘missions’ and learns a lot about himself. He then has to complete another 3/4 cards.

That’s all I will say about it for now! But it is quite gripping, you want to keep going and know what is going to happen to him! I personally really liked this book and cannot wait for him to start writing more books!

The Martian by Andy Weir review

I WILL POST PHOTOS ASAP!

THIS BOOK!

I really, really, thoroughly enjoyed this book! I have heard so much about this and that it is going to be made into a film! I cannot wait!

This only took me about 3 evenings to read this, as I was HOOKED!
The storyline is basically about a man that has gone on a mission to Mars with his crew members. Whilst on Mars, there is a strong sandstorm and during this, an antenna flies at the main character and stabs him in the stomach, he then disappears in the sandstorm.
The crew thinks that he has died, and whilst they have to rush to get back to the space shuttle, they leave him behind.
So now, the main character is stranded on Mars.

Then it all unfolds from there! It is definitely, DEFINITELY a great book to read and I highly recommend it!
I think that this book is going to be a massive hit within the next year or so (as they are currently working on the film now – which one of my friends is helping with in London – COOL!).

Anyone read this and loved it as much as me?

Here I am!

It all went to plan in the end! Aha!

I surprised my mother by sitting next to her in the airport and yup, she cried!

This is just going to be a quick update, as I’ll be posting more in the week! But so far, we have been to Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios which are so much fun!!

Here are a few photos so far:

Me And Earl And The Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews review

I WILL POST PHOTOS ASAP!

So, I saw the trailer to the film adaptation of this book and I thought that I would give the book a read, as it looked pretty funny and interesting at the same time (and being sad, of course).

I picked this book up last night on Amazon, turns out I’ve finished it this morning! I was hooked onto the story line, it was a nice quick read following the lives of a young boy in high school.

He hasn’t been friends properly with this girl for years, but since he found out that she has leukaemia, he has made the effort and time to comfort her and keep her company. The story develops into film making, high school hierarchy and several other issues.

I wasn’t blown away by this book, but I thought that it was a really nice book to quickly read. I will definitely go to see the film adaptation, as I want to see how they will achieve this in film.

Have any of you read this? I’ve heard that there’s quite a bit of hype around this, at the moment.

So, here I’m writing from the past..

Basically, today it’s the 10th May and I thought that I would start writing this now. I am trying to catch up on my blog posts, and I know that I will be in work during the week and probably a little hectic, but here it goes..
I am finally revealing what I have been hiding for about 4 months!

HERE IS THE ANNOUNCEMENT VIDEO

On Saturday (probably the day that you will be reading this), I will be flying to Orlando as my family are going on holiday. I have decided that I will surprise my mother when I get there, as she doesn’t know that I will be there.
I get to the airport before them in Florida, so I will have a little wait around until I bump into them. I am planning a little method of surprising her, depending on what I can do at the time.

But yes, I have been wanting to tell you all this for ages as obviously, I am very excited to be going but haven’t been able to write anything incase she reads it (she reads my blog every now and then!).

So by now, I am probably still sitting on my 19 hour flight, possibly bored out of my mind, possibly sitting next to a crazy person, possibly sleeping or maybe even reading..

I will be updating you all on what I am doing when I get there, and yes, I will be taking a lot of videos whilst I’m there (especially the surprise). I will vlog on my way there, too. (I am taking my macbook, this time as we’ll have free wifi).

So prepare for lots of Disney and Universal related things in the next two weeks hopefully! I know that it can get really hectic over there though and I might not upload as much as I hoped – but I will definitely catch up at least when I get back. Hopefully I’ll have time to do it there and then!

So, let’s hope this surprise goes well!
Bye!
