Month: August 2014

I have arrived in Hong Kong!

I got here yesterday and was so tired to function! We went to see the Tian Tan Buddha, went on a cable car, got stuck and got crammed into a ridiculously small taxi!

Today we will be visiting Stanley Market, the harbour and see the laser light show. Then onto a boat for a fisherman harbour tour!

I’ll keep trying to post more photos as I go along!

Cadburys Collaboration!

IMG_8730IMG_8725

A quick little post before I start heading off to Heathrow Airport!
I luckily got emailed by a company called Cadburys Gifts Direct, who sell a massive variety of gifts and hampers! They saw my blog posts and were looking for graduates to send a hamper to, so that we could give one to somebody that has helped with our studies and supported us! Amazing idea!

I decided to split this with my parents and my two flatmates from Cardiff, as I had my last night out before I leave for Australia. We all got together, had a nice evening with some Milk Tray and Moet & Chandon and then we headed for town!

I would like to say a massive thank you to my parents for supporting me with university, especially being understanding of my choice to study Graphic Communication. I have heard that a lot of parents don’t really support Art & Design courses, as they aren’t “academic”..
But I would also like to say a big thank you to my flatmates from Cardiff (David, Jack and Chloe) as they have always been there for me (Jack & David since the beginning). They have put up with me, helped me when I was ill and kept passing out and have even helped when I am stressed out of my brain with uni work!

I would also like to thank Cadburys Gifts Direct for sending me this hamper, it was such a lovely opportunity and it came at the perfect timing!

If you would like to see the massive range of hampers, then visit: http://www.cadburygiftsdirect.co.uk/

So now it is time for me to pack the last few remainders into my backpack and then I’ll be off to Heathrow to book into the hotel! I will be updating you on more of my adventures, but for the time being don’t expect any other blog posts besides my travel updates! I will also be doing a vlog as well!
I hope you all take care whilst I’m away and make the most out of the summer (if it’s still here)!
I’ll speak to you all soon!

Cadburys Collaboration!

A quick little post before I start heading off to Heathrow Airport!
I luckily got emailed by a company calling Hemingways, that work together with Cadbury’s for their online gift service. They saw my blog posts and were looking for graduates to send a hamper to, so that we could give one to somebody that has helped with our studies and supported us! Amazing idea!

How am I going to Australia? How did I do it?

A lot of people have been asking me these questions, so here I am writing this post for you lovely lot!

Firstly, it all started off when I visited my local STA Travel. I decided to go in, just to browse at a few brochures, really not sure what I wanted to do apart from leave the UK for quite a few months!
I thought about Canada and America, but the visas are quite hard to get. I then looked into ‘Work Australia’ and fell in love with it!
STA Travel will get your visa sorted for you, can book your flights (or have a group flight, like I have done with another 40 people) and they can add on lots more things like excursions and skills courses.

I only went through STA Travel for my visa, mainly because the member of staff that we had several times was really rude to me and my parents. Even when we would ask for their opinion (as they had done the same trip previously), they didn’t show much enthusiasm and decided to talk bad about BUNAC (who runs Work Australia).

I ended up going through BUNAC which was a lot easier! They organised my group flights, accommodation for the first 7 days and are going to handle stuff like setting up bank accounts.. This has taken a lot of stress off my mind, so I would definitely recommend going through this process!

When it comes to your visa, don’t feel scared – it is a few small pages of questions to answer and then I received mine within 1 or 2 days!
It was as easy as that really, I didn’t have much more to do ‘form wise’, apart from the dreaded paying part!

Here is a link to the BUNAC page for Work Australia, which will cover all of the information that I have spoke about here! http://www.bunac.org/uk/work-abroad/work-australia
They also do other countries such as the UK (for internationals), USA, New Zealand and Canada.

If you have any further questions on this, then feel free to leave me a comment or a tweet!
I will post more about my trip just before I go, giving the details on what I will be doing, etc..

Soap & Glory ‘Archery’ Brow Pencil

DSC00053
I had read quite a lot of reviews and blog posts about this eyebrow pencil! I didn’t want to try it mainly because of the price (£10.00 – Boots), but I decided to give in as there was a 3 For 2 offer on in Boots, at the time!DSC00057
This has easily become my favourite eyebrow product, completely! It has a twist-up pencil on one side, then a tint felt tip, on the other side. I prefer to just use the pencil, but the felt tip is still pretty good! I just have really temperamental eyebrows!DSC00059
I had this product in the Blonde shade (I think it’s called Love Is Blonde?). It is an incredible colour for my eyebrows, as they are practically invisible! Usually eyebrow pencils in ‘blonde’ are too orange for mine, but this one is perfect!DSC00061
It did last me quite a while, but I am still a little cautious about the price as I tend to try and get away with spending too much on products that run out after a month or two! (The only high end and pricey products I own are eyeshadows and blush!).SAM_0129So, here is a quick example of what this product looks like! It is a really good match with my hair, some days I think it’s too identical to my hair colour, whilst others it can be applied a little more heavier and could possibly be a little risky and darker!

*Update*
I went to repurchase this the other day, and I saw that they have another version of this but it just has a spoolie and the retractable pencil on the other side – the shade name is Blonde Bombshell though! They’re basically the exact same colour! This one is also £2.00 cheaper aswell – so although I accidentally picked it up without realising, it is definitely worth the money as the product comes out so well!

What do you think? Have you tried this before? Do you have any dupes for this product too?

Collection ‘Work The Colour’ Eyebrow Kit

SAM_0149
I was in Boots looking for a new brow kit/brow pencil that was going to live up to the Soap & Glory ‘Archery’ but for a smaller price! I saw this as I passed the Collection station with a massive £2.99 offer sign, so I thought that I would give it a go!SAM_0150
You can only get the one kit, which covers a range of shades. It comes with a clear mascara (brow gel) and one of those standard brow brushes! (as you can see, the inside of the set gets a bit grubby even on it’s own!).SAM_0151
Although I thought that the shadows were really crumbly and chalky, I actually found this kit alright for the money! I would say that it’s workable, not brilliant – but if you really need something on a budget, then this could do..
I do find the shades a bit too orange though, but if I blend them in a bit they seem to tone down!SAM_0154

Tried this yet? Did you feel the same or actually love it? Let me know!
